Adnan Shah Tipu on why he didn’t like Sacred Games 2

Adnan Shah Tipu, an actor par excellence, is unquestionably a powerhouse of talent who has proven his mettle by giving magnificent performances in a variety of roles throughout the years.

In this interview, Shah, who is well-known for his performances in television programmes such as Suno Chanda, discusses his career as a writer for a regional journal.

When asked about wasted opportunities, he said that he had been offered big-budget Bollywood films that he had to turn down because of tensions across the border with Pakistan.

He claimed that he was unable to sign Dedh Ishqiya and Sacred Games 2 because of scheduling conflicts. “Sacred Games 2 was presented to me, and it’s not that I didn’t want to do it; it just couldn’t happen because of the political situation in India and Pakistan. If the situation were better, I would be putting more effort into it,” he admitted.

Furthermore, he made a brief mention of the distinctions between the cinema industries of India and Pakistan.

“It’s a much larger market. When we compare the Pakistani industry with the Indian sector, I suppose we become a little arrogant.”

“Our languages may be the same, and our ways of life may be similar, but that industry is enormous,” he continued. Take, for example, the film Dangal, which grossed approximately the same amount of money as all of Pakistani films released in the last 10 to 15 years combined.
