CAA introduces a fast PCR testing option for Pakistani travellers
In the major airports of the country, including Karachi Lahore and Islamabad, the Civil aviation authority has established a fast PCR test service.
The authorities asked NCOC to give room to test counters, according to officials. After the service has been given, the Airline’s Operators Committee has now published a list of 15 laboratories approved.
The laboratories began working on a number of airports in Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Multan, Faislabad and Sialkot.
The AOC lowered from Rs6,500 to Rs4,000 the cost of fast PCR testing at Peshawar Airport.
The CAA stated officials also requested fees to be reduced in other airports in order to relieve travellers’ financial burdens.
After the United Arab Emirates enforced an obligation for a quick PCR test to enter the nation, several of the travellers were stuck at Karachi and Islamabad airports.
A circular on the FlyDubai website on August 4, was read that the transport of UAE residents from India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Uganda had been suspended.
However, it said that, under specific conditions, the following groups of travellers, whether vaccinated or not, are to be allowed to enter Dubai:
- Medical personnel
- Employees in the education industry
- Current students in the UAE
- Valid visa holders for humanitarian reasons
- Local and federal government officials
- Medical care of passengers in the UAE
