Gmail app will soon allow users to call each other by using app

Google currently separates its various applications and services. Gmail will be its email service, Meet will be its video conferencing service, and more. Since then, however, Google has announced some upcoming changes that will make Gmail app a hybrid platform where users can do a lot of things in the app like call to each others apart from checking their email.
As part of the Google Workspace update, Gmail users will likely be able to call each other on Gmail app in the future. Except that this is possible in the Gmail app itself and not in the Meet app. This makes it easier for users to participate in conversations and makes it easier for them to access them.

Google Meet” has described as a smooth way to start video or voice discussions between two people and complements a planned video conference. We intend to direct Meet calls to all natural endpoints in the Workspace where you can find one. “Initiate ad hoc calls, including chat, people cards, and spaces”. But these will be the top priority for one-on-one calls in the Gmail mobile app.

Google has built chat into Gmail, so we’re not surprised that Meet integration is next. The changes have expected to extend to corporate clients in the coming weeks, so may be worth noting.
