ICC has confirmed its intention for cricket’s entry in Olympics

The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed its intention for cricket competitions in Olympics. The ICC has set up a task force to lead bidding on behalf of the sport. This ICC team will focus on making cricketing part of the Olympic family for LA 2028 and so on.

ICC President said, “I would like to congratulate the Tokyo 2020 and the people of Japan for hosting such an extraordinary event. It’s absolutely fantastic to watch and capture the imagination of the world. Now we want cricket to be a part of the game in the future. ICC has more than a billion fans worldwide and almost 90 per cent of them want to see cricket in Olympics.”

“We believe cricket will be a great addition to the Olympics. We also know that getting inclusion will not be easy because there are so many other great sports.”

“Furthermore, USA Cricket is delighted to support the Cricket Olympic Games offering. We believe that including cricket will add immense value to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. It also help us realize our vision of building cricket in this most important sporting nation.”
