“It’s a great shame,” says Kane Williamson
Kane Williamson, the captain of the New Zealand cricket team, has described the country’s decision to withdraw from the Pakistan tour as “really disgusting.”
He believes the decision will have no “durable effect” on the Pakistani game.
“I’m not aware of what happened yesterday,” Williamson said to a sports announcer on Saturday. It was a last-minute decision, but it was unquestionably a travesty of justice. In Pakistan, cricket is a fantastic sport that is well-supported.”
I believe the lads will not begin to play the complete series because of the amount of passion they have. I am not aware of the specifics, however, because I work for the Indian Premier League in Dubai. “I intend to find out a little more about this in the next couple of days,” said Williamson, who did not travel to Pakistan to investigate the situation.
“You want the game to be played in all countries,” Williamson said, expressing hope that the decision by New Zealand will not have an impact on the future of cricket in Pakistan. Because it’s a worldwide game, people all around the world are enthusiastic about it, particularly in Pakistan.”
