Karachi gets new garbage-lifting machinery

For the first time, the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) has purchased 27 new garbage trucks in an effort to address Karachi’s rubbish problem.

The trucks will be used to implement a door-to-door cleanup system in the city’s districts Keamri and West.
In accordance with the MD of SSWMB, 27 new garbage lifting machines and 128 dustbins have been delivered to district Keamari and West teams for the collection of waste on a door-to-door basis.
Zubair Channa, the managing director of the SSWMB, has previously ordered Chinese cleaning companies to adapt their techniques of cleaning the city and adhere to international standards.

According to reports, the provincial government purchased more than 200 Qingqi rickshaws last year to collect municipal rubbish from homes all around Karachi on a door-to-door basis from residents.
