NCOC permits the reopening of schools in districts where COVID-19 positivity is low
Provincial authorities could reopen educational facilities in areas with low coronavirus positive ratios on Monday, the National Command and Operations Center said on Saturday.
However, the NCOC said educational institutions in areas where the coronavirus has tested positive should not reopen on May 24, as previously decided.
Instead, they have to stay closed until June 6. NCOC has set a 5% limit on school reopening. If the infection rate in an area is above the threshold value, the educational institution there cannot be reopened.

A decision on whether educational institutions can reopen on June 7 will be made on June 3, the letter added. More than 50 regions with a high coronavirus positivity ratio.
In a statement, the ministry said the districts included Badin, Dadu, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Sukur, Shaheed Benazirabad, and all Karachi districts. All educational institutions across Islamabad will remain closed, the federal ministry added.
The statement said the positive rate was high in 52 districts in Pakistan and therefore all educational institutions in those areas would remain closed until June 6. It covers the four regions of Azad Jammu and Kashmir — Muzafarabad, Poonch, Bag, and Sadnaut.
KP 14 regions have high positive ratios, among others, Abbottabad, Bannu, Buner, Charsadda, Unterdir, Oberdir, Haripur, Kohat, Karam, Mardan, Nowshera, Peshawar, Swabi, and Swat remain closed.
