Punjab is planning to start a power transmission company

Punjab speeded its attempts to establish a T&D company under the National Transmission and Deployment Company (NTDC).

A summary of the Punjab Provincial Grid Company’s permission has been begun by the provincial energy department, and the provinces are now examining it.

“Sindh has already set up her own carrier. The 18th amendment requires the same structure. We follow up on the summary provided to Chief Minister of Punjab, Usman Buzdar for approval,” stated the Minister of Energy.

In 2018–19, the overall demand for electricity in Pakistan was 25,627 million W, of which 14,472 thousand watt were Punjab’s used alone, according to the summary. The province will be able to meet its energy demand by 24,000 MW between 2027 and 2028.

Similarly, a large number of Punjab-based consumers generate 68% income. The province represents 66% of the country’s overall energy users.
